3D Printing at the Library
PRPL’s PRUSA i3MK3S+ 3D printer is located in the library’s Rotary Makerspace! This addition to the Library’s services will enable and encourage our community to learn and develop digital literacy skills.
All Patrons wishing to use the new 3D printer must complete an orientation.
Booking a 3D printer orientation
Those who have previously used PRPL’s Ditto Pro 3D (prior to 2023) must also sign up for a quick orientation to the new PRUSA i3MK3S+ — as there are significant changes to note about using the new machine.
Patrons under 10 must use the 3D printer with an adult who has completed an orientation.
To book an orientation: contact Teen Services Coordinator Mel Edgar at edgar@prpl.ca or by phone at 604-485-4796 ext. 213.
Using the 3D Printer
Once you’ve completed an orientation, and subject to availability, you may book time in Rotary Makerspace at the front desk. They’ll ask you to complete a meeting room booking form and adhere to the basic rules of using the space.
*Youth under 19, can book time with the 3D printer between 10-5 pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Subject to availability of the Teen Services Coordinator.
