Friends of the Library Book Drive
Friends of the Library Book Drive
The Friends of the Library hold a Book Drive on the fourth Monday of every month from 3-5 pm at the Library to collect book donations from the community. These books are sold to raise funds for library services and initiatives. Please only bring books in good condition, and no textbooks. Thank you.
Print a Baby for Family Literacy Week
Print a Baby for Family Literacy Week
Using non-toxic inks on quality papers, replicate small hands and feet for your wee one’s scrapbook. Take home some early literacy resources along with your prints. We’ll be joined by speech and language therapist Alyssa Dixon from VCH who will be open to answering any questions you might have about speech and language development.
Teen Writers’ Group
Teen Writers’ Group
A group for writers aged 13+ seeking a place to take their writing further. Come talk about writing, learn techniques, and explore the secrets of professional writers. The Teen Writers' Group meets Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 pm, in Meeting Room A, when school is in session. Drop-in.

No assigned reading. No questions or conversation prompts. Bring your current book and read in quiet camaraderie with other introverts. Chat about your favourite authors, or not. This book club allows the social connection of other book clubs, without the social pressure!

Sonia Zagwyn offers a lively fare of puppetry, finger plays, action rhymes, singalong songs and the best-of-the-best-of book-tales Wednesday and Thursday mornings, 10:30-11:00 am in the Anne Woznow Children's Reading Room. Toddlers and preschoolers and family members come discover the energy of words and pictures. This is a drop-in program and no registration is required.
