Accessibility Form We want to know the specific barriers people with disabilities face when interacting with the library’s services, programs, and facility. Tell us what we're doing well, and where we could improve. A barrier is anything that restricts someone from having full and equal access to library services, activities, events, and spaces. Attitudinal barriers are those that discriminate against persons with disabilities, such as assuming a person with a disability can’t understand and talking to their caregiver instead of the person. Technological barriers occur when technology can't support various assistive devices, such as a computer without the ability to use a screen reading device. Communications barriers happen when a person can't easily understand information, such as print that is too small to read or a speaker who can’t be heard because they are not using a microphone. The Powell River Public Library is collecting this information for the purposes of improving accessibility in compliance with Section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. All identifying information will be kept confidential.
