We love showing the Powell River Public Library to students of all-ages, and as the Powell River Public Library continues to practice physical distancing, we’ve found ways to be able to invite students, teachers and parents into the Library space to explore. These exciting opportunities include pre-recorded virtual tour videos and scheduled zoom-based virtual library visits.
Get to know your Library! In these videos for kids and teens you’ll get to know the space, our services, the collection and some of the familiar faces you’ll see when you visit the Library.
Zoom-based virtual library visits and library card requests:
Library cards are available for students. To request library cards for your students please fill out the Teacher Request Form below and have parents or guardians complete the Student Library Card Application. When you’ve received all the completed application forms you can scan and send your package to:
Sonia Zagwyn, Children’s Services Coordinator: firstname.lastname@example.org
Mel Edgar, Teen Services Coordinator: email@example.com
Once we’ve received the Teacher Request Form and library card applications and the library cards are ready, we will contact the teacher to pick-up the cards at the Library. Once students have received their cards, Sonia Zagwyn or Mel will be happy to schedule a Zoom meeting with your classroom to answer questions, read stories, and get kids excited about what they can do with their Library cards.
For more information please contact Sonia or Mel (emails above).
