We love showing the Powell River Public Library to students of all-ages, and as the Powell River Public Library continues to practice physical distancing, we’ve found ways to be able to invite students, teachers and parents into the Library space to explore. These exciting opportunities include pre-recorded virtual tour videos and scheduled zoom-based virtual library visits.
Get to know your Library! In these videos for kids and teens you’ll get to know the space, our services, the collection and some of the familiar faces you’ll see when you visit the Library.
Zoom-based virtual library visits and library card requests:
Library cards are available for students. To request library cards for your students please fill out the Teacher Request Form below and have parents or guardians complete the Student Library Card Application. When you’ve received all the completed application forms you can scan and send your package to Megan Cole at email@example.com:
Once we’ve received the library card applications and the library cards are ready, we will contact the teacher to pick-up the cards at the Library. Once students have received their cards Sonia Zagwyn, children’s services coordinator, and Megan Cole, teen services coordinator, are happy to connect via Zoom to answer questions, read stories, and generally get kids excited about what they can do with their Library cards. If you’d like to book a Zoom-based virtual library visit, please fill out the Teacher Request Form and we will contact you to book a visit.
