Young Writers Group with Sarah Cassidy
In this extraordinary Young Writers workshop, author of Nevers, Sara Cassidy will discuss how to develop historical settings in your writing.
About Nevers: In the chaotic countryside of post-Revolutionary France, Odette and her flighty mother, always on the move, try to make a home in the town of Nevers. Gay and intersex representation fits smoothly into the historical setting.
About Sara: Sara Cassidy’s poems and short stories have been published in The Malahat Review, Geist, Fiddlehead, Grain, Prairie Fire, ottawater, CV2, Barren Magazine, and other literary journals. Her feature articles, columns and reviews have appeared in such places as the Winnipeg Free Press, Halifax Chronicle Herald, Focus Magazine, and the Globe and Mail. Sara’s 17 books include finalists for the Governor General’s Literary Award in Young People’s Literature, Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize, Chocolate Lily Award and more. Sara has worked as a reporter, tree planter (in five Canadian provinces), an editor, and writing instructor.
