WIR 2022 – NaNoWriMo Write In

Join PRPL’s Writer in Residence in kicking off NaNoWriMo – November Novel Writing Month! NaNoWriMo is an annual Internet-based creative writing event that challenges participants to draft a novel in 30 days.

Award-winning YA author Gabrielle Prendergast loves NaNoWriMo and takes part in the global writing event each year! In an interview with CBC Books, Prendergast said that not only does she take part in the global event each year, but she’s actually written book drafts that went on to be revised, edited, and then published. This includes her book Zero Repeat Forever.

PRPL’s 2022 Writer in Residence – Gabrielle Prendergast

Gabrielle Prendergast is the award-winning author of numerous books for children and teens. Gabrielle has been nominated for the White Pine Award and the CLA Award, The Vancouver Book Award, The Myrca, Diamond Willow and Red Cedar prizes. Gabrielle has an MFA in Creative Writing from UBC and has taught writing at Sydney University, San Francisco State University, UBC and Royal Canadian College as well as at numerous conferences and in school classrooms.

Gabrielle was Writer in Residence at Vancouver Public Library in 2014 and has expertise in mentoring and supporting authors writing for adults, including those who are interested in self-publishing.
