PRPL’s Writer in Residence joins PRPL’s ongoing virtual writing group.
Get creative and share writing in a fun and informal group. Explore nonfiction, fiction or poetry.
Writers will receive a writing prompt and will write for 20 minutes followed by discussion and time to share writing.

PRPL’s 2022 Writer in Residence – Gabrielle Prendergast
Gabrielle Prendergast is the award-winning author of numerous books for children and teens. Gabrielle has been nominated for the White Pine Award and the CLA Award, The Vancouver Book Award, The Myrca, Diamond Willow and Red Cedar prizes. Gabrielle has an MFA in Creative Writing from UBC and has taught writing at Sydney University, San Francisco State University, UBC and Royal Canadian College as well as at numerous conferences and in school classrooms.
Gabrielle was Writer in Residence at Vancouver Public Library in 2014 and has expertise in mentoring and supporting authors writing for adults, including those who are interested in self-publishing.
