Preschool Storytime is heading outdoors every Wednesday to a park near you: Sunset, Henderson, Lindsay, Larry Gouthro, and Willingdon! Families with preschoolers can reserve a “bubble” and come out to enjoy puppetry, rhymes, singalong songs and of course stories at a safe physical distance.
How it works: Hula hoops will be used to create “bubbles” placed with three metres between each bubble to support a safe environment that respects physical distancing. Kids from the same household/bubble can share a hoop up to two occupants. Caregivers can sit in or beside bubbles but must remain with children throughout storytime and help maintain physical distance during the program. Hand sanitizing will be required as part of attendance. If you or your child are feeling unwell, please stay home.
Space is limited and advance registration is required. Storytime runs from 10:30-11 am. To prevent potential drop-ins, the location will be given upon registration.
Bubble Storytime is (somewhat) weather dependent and may be cancelled at the discretion of the Children’s Services Coordinator. As we head into the fall, our goal is to carry on through drizzle or sunshine. However, be sure to check your email before you go! If the weather is too stormy or yucky, you will receive a cancellation email. All locations offer shade, but we recommend you bring your own sun hat or umbrella if you have sun concerns. Bring a blanket or towel in case of cold concrete or damp ground conditions.
For more information or to reserve a bubble, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or phone the library.
