BC Writers Series presents Lindsay Wong

Lindsay Wong is the author of the #1 bestselling debut memoir The Woo-Woo: How I Survived Ice Hockey, Drug-Raids, Demons, and My Crazy Chinese Family, which won the 2019 Hubert Evans Nonfiction Prize and was named one of the Best Books of 2018 by Newsweek, CBC Books, the Globe and Mail, and the Quill and Quire. It was also a finalist for the 2018 Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize and Canada Reads 2019. In the spring of 2020, Lindsay published My Summer of Love and Misfortune a hilarious YA book. Her essays have also appeared on CBC Books.
This is a virtual event that will happen live on Zoom on Thursday, October 15 from 7 to 8 pm. Lindsay will read from her work and talk about her writing process, She will also take your questions about her books and writing.

The Powell River Public Library is thrilled to announce the second year of the BC Writers Series. The writers series is focused on highlighting the talent of authors that call British Columbia home. Mark Leiren-Young, Kathy Page, Lindsay Wong and Monique Gray Smith will be part of this exciting series being offered in partnership by the Powell River Public Library and the Powell River Friends of the Public Library.

The BC Writers Series includes readings and presentations as well as school visits for children and teens.
The Powell River Public Library is excited to add these four wonderful authors to the list of the many we’ve been fortunate to host in the past, including Grant Lawrence, Mike McCardell, John Vaillant and Kyo Maclear.
These engaging and fun Library events are open to people of all ages, and are free. Because author readings and workshops are often popular, we recommend that anyone interested arrive early to ensure that they get a seat.
