Spring Break Comic Camp 2023

This year’s Spring Break Comic Camps run Monday through Friday, March 13-17. Space is limited and registration is open until March 12 or until all spots are filled.

TEEN CAMP (Ages 11+) RUNS 1:00 – 3:00 PM

Parents/guardians wishing to register multiple participants must register each participant separately.

The library’s popular  Spring Break Comic Camp is back, this year welcoming graphic novelist Sean Karemaker as our guest artist!

Sean Karemaker is known for his unique form of panoramic, sequential art stories that take various forms, including graphic novels, paintings, dioramas and virtual reality. Informed by an extensive background in 3D Video Games Production and Graphic Design, His work is an intersection of personal expression in storytelling and cutting edge technology.

Sean has authored two graphic novels and his published work has been recognized by The Shuster Awards 2018, Best American Comics 2018, CBC’s Best Canadian Comics 2018, and the Alcuin Society Book Design Awards. Sean’s graphic sensibility translates to unique, immersive public art projects and he has been commissioned by the Vancouver Opera, Vancouver General Hospital and The Vancouver Airport.

Karemaker lectures at Universities and schools in Europe, North America, Europe and Asia to share his vision for a future where the stories at the forefront of our culture represent empathy, Karemaker uses his art to connect with and inspire the next generations of artists.
